Are you ready to try a quick quiz again! Last month was a stunning success for a few of you! And, well, a challenge for a lot of you too!
This month we are using one of my favorite photos! When I discover a silhouette opportunity I cannot pass it up! When my son and his dear friend stepped in front of this exhibit of tiny jelly fish at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, I knew exactly what I wanted to create.
Here’s the image straight out of camera.
Of course, I couldn’t just leave it alone though! Here’s my final image. I adjusted only six things to go from the image above to the image below. Any ideas? If you’ve watched my Lightroom videos you may be able to take a guess at this one! For an extra credit challenge, see if you can guess the order of my steps as well!
Do you have a guess yet?
No peeking until you’ve guessed.
Seriously.
No cheating.
Ready?
Here you are (even if you cheated :))
- Cropped the image to place the circle closer to a third and make it appear larger in the frame.
- Adjusted the temperature to warm it up some. +146
- Increased the exposure +.4
- Increased the highlights +14 to brighten the blue without revealing any of the kids
- Increased clarity for crisper lines of the circle and their outlines.
- Decreased blacks
And that’s it! How did you do? Let me know in the comments below!
